Summary of the position
The Capacity Building Coordinator will be responsible for providing administrative and coordination support, assisting and working on the delivery of UICC’s organisational thematic workstream on people-centred care, the Patient Group Mentoring programme and the Cancer Advocates programme, within the Capacity Building team.
Main responsibilities
* Provide support to the coordination of activities relating to UICC’s cohort-based programmes, which would include, but not limited to the following activities:
o Liaising with applicants and potential recruits to support them through the application, review and selection process;
o Supporting the selection and disbursement of grants associated with the programmes;
o Assisting with the monitoring and evaluation to report on progress and milestones of those supported through the programme.
* Support the development and delivery of relevant activities, which would include, but not limited to the following activities:
o Supporting the organisation of in-person convening events and workshops, and related travel logistics;
o Coordinating the delivery of online content and/or courses, including liaising with participants and updating materials as required on relevant platforms;
o Providing logistical support for online dialogues, including but not limited to webinars, regional calls, and expert-led sessions.
* Support the delivery of communications activities, including for example, updating the relevant websites, preparation of communications materials, and engagement of target audiences.
* Assist with the preparation of financial reports, payment requests and tracking of budget expenditure.
* Support the development of reports and presentations for internal and external audiences, including the collection and preparation of data.
* Liaising across the Capacity Building team, and with other UICC teams in support of the above responsibilities and/or other activity upon request.
* In line with the above scope of responsibilities, provide support to other projects within UICC’s learning and development portfolio, as team capacity requires.
Position requirements
* A university degree with 1-3 years’ experience in an area relevant to the job description e.g. project coordination, advocacy or grant management, preferably in the context of an international non-governmental organisation.
* Experience in administrative procedures and coordination of projects, with excellent attention to detail.
* Strong organisational and time management skills to organise own work, to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with clear evidence of a team-focused mindset.
* Highly computer literate, proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel a must, with experience in using other online databases (i.e. CRM), or project management systems an asset.
* Fluency in English required with additional languages, especially French and/or Spanish, considered an advantage.
* Desirable: experience and/or knowledge in global health, cancer control, life sciences, and monitoring and evaluation.
* Swiss work permit or be eligible to work in Switzerland.
