At Bay Cities Container, we're undergoing a data-driven transformation to modernize our data stack and empower every team with the insights they need to better serve our customers. With strong executive sponsorship and enthusiastic support from across the organization, we're looking for a Data Platform Engineer who can not only architect our Microsoft Fabric platform, but also partner with our business users to ensure the platform meets their evolving needs.
The Role
As a Data Platform Engineer, you will lead the technical implementation of our data transformation, working closely with our Data Analyst to productionalize Power BI solutions on our Microsoft Fabric platform. You'll ensure these solutions are performant, scalable, and aligned with best practices while also being responsive to the needs and feedback of our business users.
Key Responsibilities Include
1. Migrating Power BI solutions to our production Microsoft Fabric platform, ensuring performance, scalability, and alignment with our data architecture
2. Partnering with our Data Analyst and business stakeholders to understand requirements and iterate on solutions
3. Optimizing our data models and pipelines for efficiency and reliability
4. Implementing data governance, security, and compliance measures
5. Providing technical leadership and mentoring to junior data engineers
6. Advocating for and implementing engineering best practices like version control, testing, and CI/CD
7. Communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and incorporating their feedback
What We're Looking For
1. 2+ years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or business intelligence
2. Deep expertise in Microsoft Fabric components like Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, and Power BI
3. Strong skills in data modeling, ETL development, SQL, and data warehousing concepts
4. Experience optimizing data platforms for performance and scalability
5. Familiarity with agile development methodologies and DevOps practices
6. Excellent communication skills and ability to partner effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
7. Experience in guiding organizations through data platform migrations and transformations
8. Passion for enabling data-driven cultures and advocating for the value of data
9. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Salary Description
$25-50/hr.
