Market Manager Railway Job Description
The Market Manager Railway plays a pivotal role in driving business growth in defined global markets. This involves developing and adapting key strategies, monitoring progress, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to boost revenue and enhance market share.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and execute strategies to expand our business in designated global markets, ensuring ongoing progress and adaptation as needed.
* Analyze systematically the current and future requirements of target customers, along with the potential market for our product portfolio (present and future).
* Familiarize yourself with the value proposition of competitors, including their development trends.
* Partner with Sales to diversify within key customer relationships.
* Understand the broader business environment and requirements, encompassing customer, competition, supply chain, technology, application of products, market disruptions, and corresponding trends. Utilize this knowledge to initiate the development of novel products, applications, and services.
* Determine the specifications for new products (in close collaboration with Product Management) and services.
* Suggest adjustments to existing products or customer relationships.
* Gather and analyze market information (Market Intelligence) and comprehend the competitive landscape.
* Understand and interpret current and future technologies employed and applied in the market and by our target customers.
* Contribute actively to the development, implementation, and communication of the Segment's strategy.
* Support Business Plan development.
* Create a comprehensive market offering for today and tomorrow, incorporating options from H+S group or external sources, and establish business cases.
* Jointly develop and support go-to-market strategies with Sales.
* Define positioning and value pricing for 'new' solutions in close collaboration with Technology & Sales.
* Develop and support Segment MarCom (including budget, exhibition selection, market sales support materials, etc.) and align other product-related MarCom activities within Segment.
* Enable Sales with regards to new applications and market understanding.
* Examine risks and opportunities for business expansion.
* Lead and support engagements in partnerships, JV, and M&A.
* Collaborate with the Solutions Engineering team to support early product and solution concepts in the context of Business Development.
* Identify local success stories and prepare them for global replication.
* Prioritize newly developed businesses for structured handovers to Sales, enabling multiplication.
* Adhere to processes given by the Global Management System and contribute actively to process improvements.
Required Education & Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably EE or ME.
* Proven industry and product expertise.
* Good comprehension of LF, RF, and FO technologies.
* General management skills with a global focus and customer orientation.
* Strong leadership, negotiation, networking, presentation, communication, and motivation skills.
* In-depth market-specific knowledge and understanding of future market requirements.
Desirable Skills:
* Excellent presentation and professional appearance.
* Self-motivated and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
* Strong organization, presentation, and communication skills, both oral and written.
* Ability to travel as required to support position objectives, including international travel (up to 40%).
