Job Title: Systems Analyst
Location: Fully remote
Duration: Long term contract, no guarantee of employment for any length of time
Pay Rate Range: $47-49.50/hr.
The ideal candidate will plan, conduct, and coordinate the application of state-of-the-art information processing techniques in the analysis, design, and implementation of software systems technical support and operating system development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Monitor system performance to identify root causes for performance issues and make recommendations to management and MaaS provider
* Coordinate proposed changes with the MaaS provider and COT employees
* Communicate system outages and attend weekly meetings as part of the Change control board
* Develop operational standards and provide technical assistance to application developers and operations personnel
* Design, implement, and customize various mainframe technology solutions
* Develop and implement standards and procedures for various mainframe technical solutions
* Interact with customers and provide regular management reports/analysis
* Assist in WLM tuning and Sysplex activities
* Experience in Storage and Backup
* Serve as the main point of contact between:
* our outsourced mainframe provider's system programming team, management, and the Commonwealth of Kentucky
* COT and software/hardware vendors
* internal and external agencies to respond to mainframe inquiries
* application developers for application and system troubleshooting
* to coordinate system upgrades and maintenance with Kyndryl and COT
Requirements:
* Five years working in an MVS or z/OS IBM mainframe environment, two or more years supporting System Programmers and Administrators
* In-depth experience of mainframe technologies, including z/OS, Cobol, Assembler, System user exits, CICS, IMS DB/DC, DB2, TSO, ISPF, JES2, JCL, SMP/E, SMF, RMF, BMC Tools, CA Tools, Storage Devices, Websphere, MQSeries, VTAM, RACF, TCPIP, HCD, LPAR management, Workload Manager, and other z/OS subsystems
* Demonstrated experience in Storage technologies and administration
* Working knowledge of OMVS and its components
