Job Title: Field Applications Engineer for EU-RoW
This full-time position reports directly to the Head of Sales for Advanced Industries in Europe and is based at our HQ in Switzerland.
The primary goal of this role is to establish and maintain long-term development partnerships with existing and potential customers, driving revenue growth and expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
Your Key Challenges
* Spearhead the specification of new product developments and enhancements to existing products.
* Provide local customer support, including New Product Introduction (NPI), Engineering support, and feedback to relevant teams.
* Identify opportunities and challenges at customer sites, recognizing potential for new projects and future trends.
* Guide customers in selecting better-performing products for specific applications.
* Stay up-to-date on technical advancements and future trends.
* Maintain and contribute to the VAT know-how database.
* Cultivate effective communication between market, customers, and Business Units.
* Act as the customer interface for critical quality escalations, providing on-site support during investigations.
* Lead onsite testing and product evaluations, ensuring successful execution.
* Foster a customer-centric approach, with face-to-face interaction exceeding 40%.
Your Essential Competencies
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, or Vacuum-related engineering disciplines.
* Proven experience in vacuum engineering, preferably in the OEM environment of thin film coating industries.
* Hands-on mechanical experience with tools from institute, laboratory, or industry vacuum companies.
* Extensive exposure to developing products on system or sub-system level, particularly in thin film coating industries, R&D, instrument, roughing vacuum equipment, or related applications.
* Demonstrated expertise in processes, applications, and tools.
* Strong business acumen, influencing, and presentation skills.
* Autonomy, motivation, and ability to work independently.
* Solution-oriented thinking.
* Success-driven mindset.
* Proficiency in MS Office products.
* Excellent verbal and written English language skills.
