Julius Baer seeks a motivated and experienced legal counsel within the team Legal Digital & Contracts with a focus on advising on and negotiating sourcing contracts and a wide range of other type of contractual engagements. The role further entails legal support and participation in projects related to technology, operational innovation and digitization.
In this role, you will be the key legal advisor to the Procurement function and other business areas in relation to negotiating contracts and will collaborate with various professionals from Legal and Data Protection, Information Security and IT based in Switzerland and other locations in Europe, Asia, and Latin America.
YOUR CHALLENGE
You will be responsible for the full range of legal tasks concerning commercial contracts of Julius Baer with suppliers and providers, which includes:
1. Being part of negotiations of a range of commercial contracts and agreements across all business functions of Julius Baer, in particular agreements regarding SaaS, EULA’s, Master Services Agreements (MSA), Work Orders / Statements of Work for onshore as well as offshore delivery
2. Provide ongoing legal support and legal risk assessments to the procurement function throughout the contract lifecycle
3. Maintain and further develop standard agreements such as MSA and the General Purchasing Conditions to provide a stable and sound contractual basis to the business when purchasing goods and services
4. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies in contracts with suppliers and providers
5. Provide legal advice and support related to digitization and legal tech aspects
6. Preparing and conducting trainings on legal topics relevant to the procurement function
YOUR PROFILE
7. Master of Laws degree; bar admission, LL.M., and/or additional job-relevant certifications are an advantage
8. At least 5 years of professional experience as a lawyer in a law firm or in-house dealing with commercial contracts in an international context, preferably within the financial industry
9. Profound and practical knowledge of Swiss contract law and related regulations, in particular with respect to outsourcing as well as operational risks and resilience
10. You are passionate about technology, innovation, and digitalisation topics and willing to constantly expand your knowledge in the relevant fields of expertise
11. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to efficiently communicate with stakeholders with a broad variety of backgrounds (such as Procurement, IT / IT Sourcing, Information Security, Chief Data Officer, HR, Business and Legal)
12. You are a positive self-starter with a can-do attitude who proactively approaches problems in an analytical way and comes up with structured and tailored solutions
13. Excellent command of German and English (written and spoken)
