Job Description:
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Along with Director Operations (DO) conceptualise, design and execute new concepts/ideas, ensuring that quality standards are maintained and that it will assist in preparing speedy tailor-made proposals/pitches, resulting in repeat business.
2. Provide leadership, direction and support to the project team whilst maintaining motivation and enthusiasm to successfully deliver the project.
3. Establish, nurture, and maintain strong client relationships to ensure the retention of existing business while identifying and developing new opportunities.
4. Strive for exceptional customer service and high-quality project delivery.
5. Represent MCI Middle East LLC, as well as the broader group, when necessary or appropriate.
6. Manage supplier/partner relationships and actively seek opportunities to cross-sell MCI product practices.
7. Conduct site inspections of hotels/suppliers and interact regularly/closely with senior management to ensure that MCI clients receive exemplary service, gather information on product enhancement, and encourage new and innovative ideas to be applied by the team.
8. Actively plan and participate in all client inspections/familiarization and product presentations, utilizing these opportunities to independently represent the company in the best manner possible.
9. Develop, maintain and enhance long-term relationships with clients through email, fax or telephone to obtain feedback regarding current projects, and monitor Project Executives (PE) performance on long-term projects and report the same to DO.
10. Responsible for the implementation of any large events/conference or incentive project (500+ pax) from commencement to conclusion by either handling independently (based on the importance of the client) or by providing total supervision of tasks carried out by the PE.
11. Ensure that competitive rates and services negotiated by DO are being applied by the PE, thereby ensuring maximum profitability for MCI. Effectively and assertively negotiate rates for ad-hoc requirements with suppliers ensuring cost control and minimum expenditure.
12. Manage relevant teams in the absence of DO (frequent duty travel) by providing a smooth backup for any business incurred on the spot with priority turnaround time.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
1. The job involves providing the highest standard of services to the customer which needs to be driven by the jobholder as an example to all members of the unit. The interests of the customer need to be kept at the forefront on a constant basis and necessary action taken to meet their requirements.
2. The ability to control and supervise that the team produces error-free work is critical to the smooth running of the unit. This aspect is critical keeping in mind the multitude of actions taken against each confirmation as well as the sheer volume of processing involved. No compromise can be made in this regard.
3. When handling a project, use appropriate style to gain acceptance or agreement of an idea or plan and change other opinions by effective persuasion. Persuade others to adopt a course of action by offering them incentives and guaranteeing certain benefits in order to seek a win-win outcome.
4. The job holder must be able to communicate clearly to all points of interaction with Hotels, Tour Operators/Incentive Houses, Groups & Incentive Staff, Managers, etc., both verbally when providing clarification/advice and in writing when formulating wording for responses. Communication has to be concise and precise without any cause for additional clarification from addressed parties.
5. Knowledge of Incentives is required to clearly understand the needs relevant to this aspect of the MICE industry and hence anticipate and prepare for forthcoming requirements of our clients. As a leader of the team, the members will depend upon the jobholder to provide answers as well as direction in the performance of their tasks.
