We are seeking a skilled and innovative Product Designer to join our team at Ferronato. This role involves creating detailed technical sheets, developing design guidelines, and leading new product development. The ideal candidate will have experience in material sourcing, a passion for sustainable design, and the ability to collaborate across departments to ensure product excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Creation of Technical Sheets
- Develop comprehensive tech sheets for existing products, including:
• Fabric (MetaFab) placement information
• Product measurement and data sheets
- These sheets will guide our suppliers on the correct placement of technology in our products and ensure clear communication on product specifications.
2. Develop Rule Books & Guidelines
- Create detailed rule books outlining design guidelines, material specifications, and brand standards to ensure product consistency.
- Include a section on common design mistakes to avoid.
3. New Product Development
- Lead the design and development of new products, focusing on creating entry-level products that complement our leather range.
- Oversee material sourcing, design, and testing processes using our in-house industrial capabilities.
4. Material Research
- Research and source alternative materials to leather, with a focus on sustainability, durability, and premium quality.
- Collaborate with the product development team to test and implement these materials, incorporating trend and color research.
5. Collaborate with the Team
- Work closely with production, marketing, and sales teams to ensure that designs are practical for manufacturing and meet market demands.
6. Stay Updated on Design Trends
- Continuously research and monitor trends, materials, and techniques within the fashion and accessories industry to keep our brand at the forefront of innovation.
