Grant Officer: Funding Administration and Management Location: Swiss 3 R Competence Centre Contract: Fixed term contract to 31.12.2026 with planned extension to 31.12.2028, based on continued federal funding of the Centre. The Swiss 3 R Competence Centre is a non-profit association that promotes research, education, and communication for the replacement, reduction, and refinement of animal experimentation (the 3 Rs principle). It is a joint initiative of 11 universities and higher education institutions from Switzerland, the Swiss association of the pharmaceutical industry (Interpharma), the Swiss Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office (FSVO), and Swiss Animal Protection (SAP). Job Description: For the 7-person Directorate team in Bern, the Swiss 3 RCC is looking for a Grant Officer to support funding management. The ideal candidate will oversee the entire grant lifecycle from application to project completion, maintaining the quality and integrity of our funding processes while supporting both applicants and grant recipients in achieving their research goals. Responsibilities: Supporting and collaborating with the current Research Officer on the Funding Scheme management. Creating and modifying standardized application and evaluation forms. Screening incoming funding applications for completeness and eligibility. Identifying and coordinating international expert reviewers. Coordinating the review process with Grant Review Panels. Preparing funding agreements with funded applicants. Monitoring ongoing funded projects through the review of reports. Updating project webpages for dissemination of information. Reviewing and authorizing financial reports of all grant recipients. Candidate Profile: Education and Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferably in a life science or 3 Rs-related field. Background in research or scientific administration with experience in grant administration and management. Preferred Experience and Knowledge: Interest in fields relevant to the 3 Rs Principle. Knowledge of basic literature review processes. Experience in research funding application assessment is preferable. Personal Skills and Competences: Strong organizational and project management abilities. High degree of integrity and confidentiality. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Professional communication skills in both written and verbal form. Strong digital literacy and ability to learn new software applications quickly. Other Eligibility Requirement: Swiss national; holder of a valid Swiss working permit (B or C); or Schengen country national.
