The Role
The Global Programming Group is responsible for stewarding the Forum's events. We lead on programming, architecture, and operations of the Forum's institutional events.
Reporting Lines & Interactions
This role reports to the Head of Event Editorial within the Global Programming Group. You will work closely with the Forum's core thematic impact teams and be responsible for providing a holistic view of Forum impact priorities.
Within the Global Programming Group, you will work closely with the Event Management, Event Design, and Strategy and Engagement units. This role requires high internal collaboration and regular engagement with Forum Leadership to align editorial priorities across platforms and communities.
Main Responsibilities
1. Develop and socialize programme design frameworks, structures, processes, and tools to support the Forum's strategic direction.
2. Maintain an overarching view of Forum's Centres and community priorities, identifying opportunities for cross-centre alignment.
3. Collaborate with thematic Centres and other teams to scan emerging issues, identify relevant experts, and shape a programme that delivers on Forum's strategic priorities.
4. Lead programme development and speaker selection processes for institutional events, balancing impact priorities, partnership goals, inclusion targets, and audience interests.
5. Support live session delivery for virtual and in-person events.
6. Build and maintain event programme development and editorial processes, templates, and databases.
Key Assessment Criteria
1. Stewarding the Forum's institutional events, ensuring consistent thematic architecture and event processes.
2. Closing collaboration with colleagues beyond the Global Programming Group, including thematic Centres, Global Communications Group, and business engagement functions.
3. Developing a strong understanding of the Forum's mission and aligning event content with platform impact priorities.
4. Conducting thorough post-event debriefs of the editorial process.
5. Effective interpersonal and negotiation skills, including verbal and written communications and presentations.
6. Navigating the complexity of a matrix organization and articulating programme development milestones consistently.
Preferred Requirements and Experience
1. 8+ years of experience in programme development for large events with a global audience, ideally engaging business, government, and non-profit audiences.
2. Strong writing skills, ability to communicate complex issues to diverse audiences.
3. Advanced university degree in business, media, communications, economics, journalism, or other relevant fields.
4. Proven project management and coordination skills, negotiation skills.
5. Problem-solving mindset, identifying strategically salient questions and marshalling required data.
6. Excellent team collaboration, relationship development, and operational skills.
7. Fluency in English, excellent written, digital, and verbal communication skills; knowledge of other languages would be an asset.
8. Mastery of Microsoft Office, experience with Salesforce a significant plus.
