Job Description
* You develop a deep understanding of the business area or client group supported, along with its results and key drivers that influence profit and loss performance.
* You analyze historic, current, and forecasted performance for the client group or business area, providing monthly financial analysis and insights to highlight emerging issues or trends and make recommendations for corrective actions.
* You interpret, explain, and drive performance within the business.
* You support and influence key operational and strategic decisions by providing insights and challenging assumptions.
* You translate operational targets into executable in-year plans.
* You partner with the client group to drive actions to meet targets (pricing, promotion ROI, sales, margin, variable costs, overheads, EBITDA, working capital, ROI).
* You advise on key business planning assumptions, trade-offs, and opportunities.
* You review actual performance (pricing, promotion ROI, sales, margin, variable costs, overheads, EBITDA, working capital, ROI) to make recommendations and provoke interventions required to reduce costs, improve margins, and convert profit and loss into cash.
* You own and drive initiatives focused on closing variances with the business.
* You ensure the business understands and delivers against key performance indicators (KPIs).
* You facilitate ad-hoc analysis and insights on specific issues at a strategic level.
* You support strategy development by providing financial performance insights and recommendations to the client group, identifying potential opportunities and risks through scenario and sensitivity analysis.
* You evaluate investment options from a financial perspective to provide a long-term view of their impact on key KPIs for the client group/business area (e.g., pricing, mix, sales, margin, variable costs, media costs, working capital, ROI).
* You support the management of the capital expenditure (capex) budgeting process, accurately forecasting capital spending and depreciation for budget development and long-term planning for capital commitments.
* You identify and provide financial implications for all projects/business initiatives, contributing to business cases and ensuring the most profitable allocation of resources through financial insights and constructive challenge.
* You leverage analyses provided by financial planning and analysis (FP&A) to drive business decisions, overlaying commercial acumen and insight.
* You provide insights into the competitor landscape to the business and FP&A teams.
* You work with the management team to define planning assumptions, risks, and investment opportunities, ensuring these are fed into a high-quality and credible integrated business planning (IBP) process.
* You provide support and challenge to ensure the quality of data, working closely with other functions to improve accuracy and timeliness.
* You regularly attend meetings with customers, key suppliers, external partners, and work closely with other functions to formulate action plans addressing performance gaps.
* You recognize the importance of business and financial controls, working closely with the management team to install accountability and culture.
* You provide expert opinion on key accounting judgments to help ensure the integrity of financial statements, leveraging your network as required.
* You review the corporate social responsibility (CSR) and other management reports produced by the shared service center (SSC), providing additional insights on performance and risk management.
Key Responsibilities
* 5+ years of post-qualification experience in an accounting or financial managerial position.
* University degree or equivalent.
* Accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) applicable in relevant countries.
* Gained first experience in FMCG.
* Swiss citizenship or valid work permit in Switzerland.
* Business and financial analysis experience.
* Microsoft Project skills, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel skills.
* Excellent communication and written skills with the ability to engage people at all levels internally and externally.
* Able to influence business and finance colleagues, think long term, bring multiple stakeholders, and conflicting viewpoints to an objective resolution, and constructively challenge assumptions and thinking.
* Impactful report writing and presentation skills.
