Reporting to the Director of Material Flow Consulting, a Senior Fulfillment Consultant leads consulting activities for our clients, where they will design conceptual solutions for transport, distribution, fulfillment, and reverse logistics centers. They serve as automated material handling technology experts and stay abreast of the latest industry trends and innovations in order to guide clients to the optimal solution design that aligns with the client's strategic goals. Working closely with Sales, they will lead clients through the consultation process and ensure that consultations meet customer strategic objectives and exceed their expectations. With their years of experience and industry expertise, they work hand in hand with Solutions Engineers, Account Managers, and Leadership regularly.
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES
Consulting with stakeholders to ensure solution designs meet our clients' requirements and expectations
Analyzing existing client data, business processes, storage methods, and layouts, and identifying opportunities for improvement
Designing and costing manual and automation solutions that align with client business needs and goals, including developing system material flow diagrams and operational process flows
Creating professional presentations and proposals to be shared with C-level clients as needed
Working closely with Solution Engineers, Account Managers, and Senior Leaders to collaborate on solutions
Managing and/or generating cost estimates for proposed material handling integration projects
Keeping up to date with the latest automation trends and technologies
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
5-10 years of proven experience in material flow consulting, executive-level operations, or a combination of both
Experience with basic AutoCAD functions
Expertise in warehouse, distribution center, and order fulfillment operations
Expertise in creating and understanding operational flow and requirements
Expertise in the design and application of at least three areas of material handling, such as but not limited to conveyor systems, shuttle systems, goods-to-person systems, automated vehicles, ASRS systems, WMS/WCS/Machine-level software, etc.
Demonstrable experience in the application of data analysis and modeling tools associated with automated distribution and fulfillment center designs
Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills, with the ability to express complex concepts in plain language to reach broader audiences
Strong capability to define and then analyze data and information needed from the customer for determination of system requirements
Expert understanding of value engineering and ROI analyses
Ability to collaborate at a cross-functional level effectively
Strong technical aptitude – highly knowledgeable of industry systems, including complex integrated systems and components
Highly detail-oriented, with the ability to manage critical deadlines
Self-starter mindset. Does not need consistent follow-up to exceed deadlines and provide deliverables
BS in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering, Business Management, or Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience. MBA preferred
Proficient with Microsoft O365 applications, with a strong emphasis on Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio
