Description
As the organiser of some of the biggest and most iconic sport events in the world, we lead the way in the sport and event industry. The Event Services Subdivision within FIFA World Cup Division is seeking an experienced and highly-organised Event Services Manager (Freelancer) to support a range of key delivery areas within the Central Services team and across the subdivision. This role will support a wide range of tasks and deliverables across four key areas:
* Services Technology
* Services Portfolio & Project Management
* Services Integration (Tournaments & Events)
* Services Business Administration
The freelance role will initially be offered on a three-month project basis, with the potential for longer-term collaboration depending on performance and business requirements. Event Services consists of 7 functional areas namely; Guest Management, Travel, Transport, Accommodation, Logistics, Workforce Management, Volunteer Management supported by the Central Services workstream. The subdivision provides services across FIFA to all Tournaments & Events, Special Events including Congress, Women's Football Convention and The Best Awards, Draws, Corporate Events including Workshops and Seminars along with all Business-related Travel and establishing the Subsidiaries for FIFA Men's and Women's World Cups.
The Services subdivision team manages multiple projects concurrently, each at different stages of the event lifecycle. They deliver on-site support for approximately 8–10 tournaments annually and contribute to site visits, draws, and bidding inspections. Additionally, they provide services for hundreds of corporate events each year. The planning cycles for these events range from a few months to over a decade, spanning from the bidding phase to final execution.
THE POSITION
These are your key tasks:
* Services Technology
o Support the day-to-day project management of the Services subdivision's portfolio of technology products.
o Work closely with both technology teams and business stakeholders to map out inter-dependencies between systems and data flows.
o Identify opportunities to consolidate and improve systems to enhance cost efficiency, workflow effectiveness, risk reduction, and leverage new technologies.
o Assist in the evaluation and implementation of new technology solutions that align with FIFA's strategic objectives.
o Monitor ongoing technology projects, ensuring alignment with business needs and strategic goals.
o Provide insights and recommendations on potential optimisations within the existing technology ecosystem.
* Services Portfolio & Project Management
o Manage, maintain and enhance the Services Monday.com workspace, content and related tools and data for the Services subdivision.
o Work with colleagues across the Services functions to develop Tournament & Event project blueprint templates to capture project data, including tasks, timelines, resources, milestones, deliverables, and dependencies.
o Attend Tournament & Event Project Meetings to ensure Services teams are aligned with upcoming milestones and any relevant risks or issues are captured and managed.
o Prepare and present data-driven insights and recommendations to senior management to assist situational awareness and decision-making.
* Services Integration (Tournaments & Events)
o Coordinate with project leads within the functions to ensure alignment on project goals, timelines, and deliverables.
o Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary to accommodate changes, mitigate risks and resolve any issues.
o Ensure effective integration of Services projects across FIFA, aligning with the broader event and business objectives.
* Services Business Administration
o Provide reporting and analysis support, including dashboard creation and maintenance to provide insights into project progress, resource allocation, and portfolio health.
o Present data-driven insights and recommendations to senior management to inform decision-making.
o Work with the team to scope requirements for any 'special projects' on an ad-hoc basis as required to support the subdivision.

* Internationally recognized Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent) and proved application, preferably in the sports or events sector, with a focus on large-scale, complex events.
* Extensive experience using Monday.com, including advanced configurations, automations, and integrations.
* Deep expertise and interest in technology with a strong ability to navigate complex digital ecosystems, including experience managing software, tools, data integrations, and workflow automation solutions. The candidate must have a strategic mindset in leveraging technology to drive efficiencies, enhance collaboration, and support data-driven decision-making across a portfolio of projects.
* Experience working with stakeholders (internal and external) and delivering training sessions.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to work and influence in a corporate and project-focused organization.
* Experience in process improvement and change management is highly desirable.
* Highly organized, adaptable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to understand the wider picture and integrate stakeholders across various cultures.
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
