Job Summary: Experienced Network Engineer with 5+ years of experience in IP networks, responsible for planning, designing, and operating complex networks, ensuring security, scalability, and performance.
* Develop and implement strategic plans for network expansion and optimization, ensuring scalability and performance.
* Conduct capacity planning to ensure network infrastructure meets business objectives.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align network plans with business requirements.
* Design network architecture and topologies that meet performance, reliability, and security standards.
* Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions to enhance network infrastructure.
* Configure and deploy core IP network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and security devices.
* Perform network upgrades and optimizations to support evolving business needs and enhance network security.
* Integrate security solutions into the network infrastructure to protect against cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
* Troubleshoot complex network issues and provide technical expertise to resolve problems.
* Ensure adherence to quality standards and compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Manage day-to-day operations of the core IP network, including upgrades, integration of new network elements, monitoring, maintenance, and incident response.
* Develop and implement procedures for network performance monitoring and optimization.
* Contribute to the on-call team for the Core IP domain, providing 24/7/365 support.
* Implement and manage network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, DDOS protection systems, and secure access controls.
* Develop and enforce network security policies, standards, and best practices.
* Conduct regular security assessments to identify and mitigate risks.
* Collaborate with the security team to ensure comprehensive protection against threats and respond to security incidents.
* Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with a Master's degree preferred.
* Industy certifications such as CCNP Security, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent are highly desirable.
* Proven experience in network planning, design, and operations.
* Strong understanding of IP networking principles, protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS), and services.
* Proficiency in network security technologies and practices, including firewalls, VPNs, CGNAT, and encryption.
* Experience with network monitoring and management tools, including Wireshark, Librenms, Grafana, Telegraph, Nagios.
* Familiarity with automation and scripting languages, such as Python, Ansible, is a plus.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Very good oral and written communication in English.
