Job Description
The Field Service Project Engineer coordinates the administrative, technical, and commercial aspects of field service projects under the direction of the Supervisor, Project Engineering - EMA. The role involves close cooperation with various teams, including Regional Field Service Manager, Contract Administration, Site Project Manager, and Service Sales Engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Receive and review project inquiries to ensure alignment with company objectives.
* Perform site surveys to estimate labor and material resources required for project completion and prepare detailed cost breakdowns.
* Prepare and issue proposals, including work scope, timelines, and resource allocation for Field Service projects.
* Collaborate with Service Sales to identify new sales opportunities and promote additional services.
* Mobilize labor and material resources for Field Service projects, ensuring efficient coordination and scheduling of subcontractors.
* Monitor purchasing and coordination of subcontractors and goods to meet project requirements.
* Track revenue and costs generated by extra work to optimize project profitability.
* Utilize project management tools to coordinate internal order activities with dispatching, support engineering, and finance teams.
* Promote a culture of safety in all project activities to prevent injuries to personnel and equipment.
* Assist in planning and technical detailing for projects to establish work requirements and promote additional services.
* Conduct post-project debriefings with key stakeholders to identify lessons learned and implement continuous improvement actions.
Administrative and Financial Oversight:
* Review, resolve, and acknowledge orders to ensure accurate and timely completion.
* Assist in establishing quality and documentation requirements for projects aligned with ISO 9001 Quality System.
* Collaborate with finance and Contract Administration to ensure accurate invoicing and collection processes.
* Finalize project costs and margins to ensure optimal financial performance.
Customer and Sales Support:
* Maintain regular communication with Sales to identify new sales opportunities and promote additional services.
* Keep stakeholders informed on project progress, quality, performance, and customer reactions.
* Provide insights to Aftermarket Sales personnel on immediate and future sales potential.
* Contribute ideas to enhance company service and eliminate operational issues.
* Support rotating equipment training programs to improve customer satisfaction.
* Provide feedback to relevant departments to promote the sale of parts, upgrades, repairs, and field service.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in field service or a related industry.
* Experience with ISO 9001 Quality System and project management tools (timelines, resource allocation).
* Technical skills: Proficiency in project management software and tools, strong understanding of contractual, commercial, and technical aspects of projects.
* Administrative skills: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, excellent documentation and report preparation skills.
* Financial acumen: Ability to prepare detailed cost breakdowns and track project revenue and expenses.
* Interpersonal skills: Excellent communication and coordination skills, ability to work collaboratively with various departments and stakeholders.
* Problem-solving skills: Strong analytical and decision-making abilities, ability to initiate and implement solutions to project-related issues.
