Job description
We are currently seeking a Senior Project Manager F/M/X with expertise in capital project management within the chemical engineering and process industries, with a focus on piping systems. The ideal candidate will lead major projects, ensuring timely, cost-effective delivery while aligning with safety and business requirements.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage capital projects through their full lifecycle, from initiation to start-up, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
2. Develop project scope and ensure fit-for-purpose engineering solutions that meet operational and business requirements.
3. Oversee the expansion of facilities, implementing upgrades and enhancements to support future growth and capacity needs.
4. Coordinate projects effectively by defining timelines, assigning roles, and ensuring resource availability to achieve project milestones.
5. Enhance existing facilities, implementing targeted improvements to boost operational efficiency and productivity.
6. Manage third-party contractors, vendors, and consultants, overseeing contract ownership and resolving disputes, negotiations, and arbitrations.
7. Establish and execute communication strategies with project stakeholders and senior leaders to ensure transparent progress updates and timely escalations.
8. Apply advanced project management processes, including risk management, change control, and governance, to ensure project success.
9. Build and lead cross-functional project teams, fostering collaboration and optimizing team performance throughout the project lifecycle.
Your Profile:
1. You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field, with a Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification.
2. You have over 10 years of experience in managing large-scale capital projects, preferably within the chemical, oil, or gas sector.
3. You have experience with piping systems.
4. You have a proven track record of leading projects in multicultural environments and engaging with global stakeholders.
5. You possess deep knowledge of project controls, governance, and Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) compliance requirements in multinational companies.
6. You have exceptional leadership, networking, and communication skills, capable of managing diverse teams and stakeholders.
7. You are proficient in digital tools for project management, with strong problem-solving capabilities and the ability to manage changing priorities.
8. Fluency in English and German is required; a third European language would be an asset.
