Job Description U-Blox is a global fabless semiconductor and modules business operating in three key areas: GNSS positioning, short-range communications systems and cellular communications systems. We develop IP and full custom ASICs for use within a comprehensive range of chipset and module products.As the IC Production & Test Engineering Director, you will lead and mentor teams responsible for the production and testing of both existing and new integrated circuits. Reporting directly to the Head of IC Design, you will define, manage, and oversee team activities, driving continuous improvements in processes and equipment. Leveraging your expertise, you will coach team members, facilitate the interpretation of test results, and actively review project deliverables to ensure high standards and timely completion.You will work closely with the quality and sourcing teams to guarantee product quality and production capacity. As part of the integrated circuits team, you will contribute to the definition, development, validation, industrialization, and review of the production results of u-blox ICs.We are a multicultural, friendly, and highly collaborative team split between Europe and Asia. Your Responsibilities: Team Leadership and Development : Lead the IC production and testing Engineering Teams (15 direct reports). Develop the team to become more productive and independent by enhancing their competencies. Coordination and Collaboration : Coordinate activities with suppliers and u-blox quality and sourcing departments. Production Oversight : Oversee the complete IC production and testing process, including wafer diffusion, wafer sort, assembly, burn-in, and final test. Hardware and Software Development : Ensure your team develops the hardware and software required for testing and IC packaging. Data Analysis : Manage production data analysis and customer return analysis. Continuous Improvement : Drive continuous improvement initiatives to achieve high quality, low cost, and short development times. Performance Monitoring : Actively review team deliveries and plans with project leaders to ensure alignment with goals and timelines. Your Skills and Experience: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering. At least 5 years of experience in IC test-program development. Minimum 5 years of experience in team management. Six-sigma green belt or equivalent. Proven experience in supplier coordination. Expertise in optimizing production processes. Fluent in English. Strong experience in managing and coaching teams. Excellent communication skills. Bonus Points (if applicable, not mandatory): Fluency in German or Swiss German. Experience with LTX_MX or Advantest_93K tester. Experience in IC packaging.
