Your role and responsibilities
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Group Head of Accounting and Financial Reporting to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient financial reporting for all stakeholders of ABB. This role is crucial in maintaining compliance with ABB Accounting & Reporting Policies based on U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) and Swiss and Swedish regulatory requirements. You will supervise a team tasked with providing monthly consolidated data to internal stakeholders, quarterly and annual external financial reports, and ensuring compliance with statutory financial statements for ABB’s country holding officers worldwide. The position reports to the Head of Corporate Controlling of ABB and it is based at ABB’s headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland. As the Group Head of Accounting and Financial Reporting, you will be responsible for:
1. Overseeing expert teams responsible for defining and validating compliance with ABB’s accounting and reporting policies, consolidating group financial information, preparing group external financial reports, and delivering statutory financial statements for the Company’s legal entities globally.
2. Acting as a trusted partner for business and process finance leadership to provide practical accounting solutions and enable process transformation and standardization.
3. Ensuring compliance with all internal policies and external financial reporting regulations.
4. Providing up-to-date accounting and reporting policies and documentation for stakeholders.
5. Managing group-wide projects focused on accounting and reporting, including the implementation of updates to US GAAP standards and Swiss and Swedish regulatory requirements.
6. Continuously improving operational processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
7. Designing and maintaining internal controls over financial reporting and performing control activities in the respective area of responsibility.
8. Owning the relationship with group external auditors for financial reporting.
9. Embodying ABB's fundamental principles of safety and integrity, you will be accountable for your decisions while supporting your team and the organization.

Qualifications for the role
* To thrive in this position, you should possess:
* A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
* U.S. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification, with a minimum of ten years of experience in global roles in accounting and financial reporting according to US GAAP standards.
* Relevant experience in a complex, diverse, and multi-divisional global (matrix) organization of significant size and scale.
* Experience in finance project management involving significant change management.
* The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and translate complex methodologies into practical business solutions.
* Commended for ability to work collaboratively and make well-informed decisions in diverse environments.
* A high degree of professionalism and integrity, with enthusiasm, initiative, and strategic vision.
* Aptitude for developing meaningful collaborations with individuals at every organizational level.
* Awareness of cultural differences, personal initiative, and experience in an engaging work environment, focusing on career advancement within the organization.
