As part of Leonardo, Kopter currently develops the AW09, a next generation single-engine helicopter that offers the largest cabin and cargo hold in its category, increased modularity and modern electronic systems. The AW09 delivers latest safety standards as well as more performance and comfort at low operating costs.
Kopter is set to become Leonardo’s Centre of Excellence for new light helicopters and an incubator of new technologies, contributing to the development of hybrid and electrical propulsion systems. Kopter’s 320 talented team members are primarily based in Switzerland, near Zurich and in Mollis (Canton of Glarus).
Your responsibilities
1. Determine the actual characteristics of the helicopter, often to prove predicted behaviour based on computed and/or wind tunnel test data
2. Prepare and support helicopter ground and flight tests
3. Advise aircrew on the safe and efficient use of the helicopter and systems
4. Plan, execute and report on flight trials efficiently while ensuring the highest possible levels of flight safety, achieving the technical objectives and minimizing time and costs
5. Prepare flight test orders, test plans, compile/analyse flight test data and publish flight test reports
6. Provide advice and support to the Design Office specialist engineering disciplines
7. Daily management of helicopter configuration and coordinate with the maintenance team
8. Monitor safety critical parameters to enhance overall fight safety
9. Act as Telemetry Controller when required
Your qualifications
10. Degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
11. Graduate of the FTE long course from a recognized TP school or hold a national FTE license
12. Greater than 500 hours of Cat 1 & Cat 2 helicopter Flight Test experience
13. Hold an EASA Class 2 medical
14. Mnimum of 5 years previous experience of conducting helicopter flight trials
15. Private pilot’s licence is an advantage
16. Knowledge of Flight Test Requirements (CS27 & CS29)
17. Very good English spoken and written (B2)
