A major milestone in this journey is the construction of a state-of-the-art peptide manufacturing facility in Muttenz, Switzerland – located just outside Basel, a major biotech and pharma hub. As part of this exciting expansion, we are seeking a Head of Technical Operations to take on a key leadership role in launching and shaping the operations of this new facility. This is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of peptide manufacturing innovation, leading a team in a dynamic and fast-growing environment. Your Tasks will include: Lead the Manufacturing, Science & Technology (MS&T) team, including recruitment, training, and employee development. Oversee the execution of commercial and new manufacturing campaigns, ensuring timely, quality-compliant, and cost-efficient operations. Lead master production scheduling and resource optimization in alignment with S&OP processes. Drive process optimization to enhance competitiveness and efficiency. Ensure compliance with SHE regulations, c GMP, ISO standards, and internal quality guidelines. Establish and maintain state-of-the-art manufacturing infrastructure, ensuring premises and equipment meet industry standards. Lead technology transfer activities, ensuring seamless integration and execution. Support and participate in audits (customer and authority) to ensure compliance and operational excellence. Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across the organization. Manage budgeting and cost control, identifying initiatives to enhance manufacturing throughput. To successfully master this role, we are looking for the following qualifications: Master’s degree (preferably Ph. D.) in Organic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Extensive experience in the chemical-pharmaceutical industry, with a strong background in process research, process development, project management, and manufacturing. Strong leadership experience with excellent people management, coaching, and team development skills. Ability to manage complex projects and drive transformational change. Hands-on, solution-oriented mindset with a proactive approach. Strong communication skills, capable of explaining complex concepts to customers and stakeholders. Fluent in German and English.
