The Head of Financials and Reporting is responsible for consolidating the Group’s financial reporting packages and ensuring full compliance with IFRS and SIX Exchange Regulations. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the financial health of the company from a financial statement perspective, ensuring accurate reporting, variance analysis, and internal control effectiveness.
The candidate will be responsible for managing the following activities:
Financial Reporting & Consolidation:
* Lead the quarterly and annual financial reporting process, including the publication every six months;
* Prepare financial statement notes ensuring full adherence to IFRS and SIX Exchange Regulations;
* Oversee the monthly and quarterly statutory financial closing, ensuring timely and accurate reporting;
* Conduct variance analysis (vs prior periods and quarters) on consolidated and business line financials;
* Oversee divisional P&L by business lines, assessing profitability and financial performance trends;
* Lead the preparation of the Stand-Alone Financial Statements for Medacta Group.
Balance Sheet & Financial Health Monitoring:
* Ensure the financial health of the Group by overseeing key balance sheet components, including Net Financial Position (NFP), Inventory, Fixed Assets (FA), Equity adjustments, and LTIP (Long-Term Incentive Plan);
* Review and oversee local reporting packages from affiliates to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Internal Controls & Compliance:
* Maintain and enhance the Group’s internal control systems, identifying areas for improvement;
* Ensure adherence to IFRS and SIX Exchange regulatory requirements, implementing updates when necessary.
Tax & Cost Analysis:
* Address key direct and indirect tax matters in collaboration with external tax advisors;
* Oversee industrial costing reviews at the Group level, ensuring accurate cost allocation and reporting.
The resource should also have the following skills:
Hard Skills:
* Bachelor's Degree preferred with 10-15 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered;
* Qualified Accountant (CPA/ ACA / ACCA/ CIMA or equivalent);
* Fluency in English in both speaking and writing;
* Strong understanding of accounting standards including IFRS and experienced in researching and challenging technical matters;
* Leadership skills to set, manage and achieve targets with a direct impact on multiple departments results within a function;
* In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
Soft Skills:
* Ability to lead and coordinate financial reporting, consolidation, and compliance activities across departments;
* Excellent communication skills to collaborate with affiliates, external advisors, and internal stakeholders;
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple deadlines;
* Strong analytical mindset to oversee financial health monitoring and conduct variance analysis.
