Drive the development of new features and enhancements while optimizing and maintaining the architecture and design of the existing trading engine. About the customer: On behalf of our client, a leading proprietary trading firm, we are seeking a highly skilled Core Software Developer (Trading Engine Operations) to contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of their in-house trading engine. This role will focus on developing scalable, high-performance code, optimizing system architecture, and improving modularity to ensure the platform's robustness and scalability. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in refining core components of the system, driving efficiency, and supporting the firm's trading operations at the highest level. This is a full-time contract role (100%) with a duration of 6 months, based on-site in Zurich. Requirements: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in software development, preferably within a fast-paced trading or financial environment. Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline. Strong proficiency in Python (Rust knowledge is a plus). Advanced familiarity with Unix-based systems. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS. Proficient in real-time messaging systems, including Redis and WebSockets. Experience with deployment and monitoring tools like Docker, Grafana, Nagios, and Supervisor. Experience in the finance or cryptocurrency sector is a plus. Hands-on experience with implementing exchange connectors. Familiarity with low-latency systems and high-frequency trading environments.
