Tasks and job requirements
- Conduct high-quality research at the intersection of AI, health informatics, and human-computer interaction (HCI).
- Design and evaluate interactive health system interfaces that improve transparency and interpretability for SCI health services.
- Investigate user experience (UX) principles to enhance clinicians' trust in AI-based health systems.
- Assess the ethical and regulatory implications of AI-driven decision-making in healthcare settings.
- Conduct empirical studies involving healthcare professionals to validate proposed models and interfaces.
- Publish high-quality research in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
Your profile
- Master's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), AI, Biomedical Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- Strong background in AI, machine learning, and/or explainable AI.
- Experience in UI/UX design, HCI, or human-centered AI.
- Strong programming skills and familiarity with modern AI frameworks. Knowledge of XAI frameworks is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including health professionals.
- Creative and able to communicate complex information.
- Fluent in English. German fluency is a significant advantage.

Contract Duration & Salary
- Employment rate: 80% (Doctoral Position)
- Duration: 4 years (in line with PhD requirements)
- Salary: Based on SNF doctoral funding rates, approx. CH 50'790/year.
- The starting date is 01.10.2025 (or as arranged by mutual agreement).
