The Opportunity
We're seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join the Immunology Discovery group in Basel, Switzerland. You'll advance our understanding of inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) by investigating T cell plasticity and its role in maintaining intestinal homeostasis.
Your Key Responsibilities:
1. Analyze multi-omics data sets to identify molecules for in vitro testing.
2. Develop methods for immune cell isolation from blood and tissue.
3. Perform immune phenotyping using multicolor flow cytometry.
4. Conduct sophisticated 3D cultures of human and mouse cells.
5. Investigate the impact of bacterial isolates and metabolites on host immune, epithelial, and stromal cells.
6. Carry out in vivo studies to gain mechanistic understanding.
7. Maintain close collaborative relationships with scientists within the CMI Department and technical teams.
About You
1. You hold a PhD in immunology obtained no more than four years ago.
2. You have a deep understanding of human immunology, mucosal immunity, and T cell biology.
3. You're experienced in state-of-the-art flow cytometry and FACS.
4. You have hands-on experience isolating and cultivating human immune cells.
5. Experience with in vivo models of inflammation and data analysis using R or Python is a plus.
6. You excel in interpersonal and communication skills, teamwork, and independence.
7. You've published as a leading author in top-tier journals.
8. You have excellent English skills, written and spoken.
This position is sponsored by the Roche Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme.
You'll be based in Basel, Switzerland, with a duration of two years and a possibility of extension for a third year.
