Role
* Develops and tests new programs, reports, schedules and procedures for the Core Data processing environment. Creates secure core application interfaces to various systems and third-party business partners. Responsible for core related project management such as testing core applications upgrades and releases against the production environment and making program changes as necessary prior to moving live. Serves as a Tier 2 resource for the Core Systems Administrator and serves as department lead in the absence of the Core Processing Manager. Will also serve as a mentor and guide to Core Systems Administrator for programming related projects.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
* Daily use of the following programs and applications will be expected: Qedit and POSIX scripts to program automated solutions to sort and manipulate file data, UC4/Automic to program efficient schedules while maintaining error oversight, Suprtool and ASKPlus programming languages to mine, analyze, and process data, Visimage for rapid prototyping before programming in Suprtool, Powershell and Batch scripts to program file manipulation in the windows environment, VBA programming language to automate various department tasks via Excel Macros.
* Assists in analyzing, developing, and testing new processes as well as modifying existing processes. Develops and maintains credit union data processing schedules. Assures that system schedules and associated documentation are updated and modified as required.
* Coordinates the installation of core system software releases, patches, and updates. Assists in pre-testing and implementation of core system software.
* Maintains an up-to-date working knowledge of core system software, keeping abreast of the capabilities of the system. Interfaces with the software vendor on implementation and configuration of software and hardware. Provides general support for other technology or data processing issues.
* Ensures high availability, redundancy, and recoverability of the core banking systems. Monitors resources of the core system in terms of disk space and allocation, memory usage, processor usage, and end-user response time. Makes proactive recommendations to supervisor regarding system upgrade requirements.
* Assures that all core system software and hardware problems are resolved in a timely manner. Maintains up-to-date documentation of all system issues.
* Manages projects ensuring project deliverables are provided on time with a high level of quality and accuracy.
* Provides technical training for Core Systems Administrator developing their technical skill sets.
* Ensure compliance with all regulatory programs including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, Office of Foreign Asset Control Program and Customer Identification Program. Assist other department personnel and performs other duties as assigned. Remote employees must adhere to their agreed-upon work schedule from a secure location, participating in virtual meetings, video conferences/other communications, and maintaining regular, responsive communication during working hours.
Performance Measurements
* Keep management and operational areas informed regarding data processing service interruptions, keeping interruptions to a minimum and scheduling downtime during off-peak time hours.
* Maintain all hardware in working order, ensuring that all systems are functioning within established parameters.
* Essential hardware must be put back into service within timelines as established in performance plan.
* Non-essential hardware should be put back into service timelines as established in performance plan.
* Provide friendly, professional and accurate service and support to all members and associates.
* Regular attendance at work and the ability to work flexible hours; including system coverage on weekends and coverage due to the demands of Paid Time Off, sickness, training periods, or equipment problems.
* Maintain a professional work environment and businesslike appearance.
* Complete assigned period end processing and reports on schedule, with zero errors.
* Ensure a high level of accuracy and timeliness on program additions and modifications.
* Develops secure efficient programs and applications to reduce manual intervention, provides new products and services for staff and members, and is automated.

Requirements
Experience:
* Five years to eight years of similar or related experience. Unix Admin experience preferred. Microsoft SQL experience preferred.
Education
* BS or BA college degree or Technical degree with desired systems analyst work experience.
Interpersonal Skills
* Work normally involves contact with persons beyond immediate associates generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (members or vendors) requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.
Other Skills
* Able to create simple PC-based software applications and reports. Ability to type, use computer and general office equipment including 10-key calculator. Requires basic to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, Outlook and Excel. Knowledge of Summit Spectrum Back-Office Operations is preferred. The ability to travel locally and out of town on credit union related business and training may be required. Understanding of database administration concepts to include working knowledge of UNIX and Windows.
Physical Requirements
* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands, and is required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, sit, and walk occasionally for long periods at a time. The employee may occasionally be required to reach with hands and arms and move objects up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. In addition, abilities for assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned is required.
