Job Description Summary
As Combined Cycle Plant Performance Engineer, you will be responsible to create and optimize combined cycle plant heat and mass balance diagrams, functional specifications for main plant mechanical equipment, plant performance predictions and performance correction curves for global projects. These activities involve strong collaboration with equipment application engineers for gas turbine, steam turbine, HRSG and bottoming cycle equipment additionally to interacting with commercial teams. In this role you will have a direct impact on GE Vernova's success to sell and build combined cycle power plants.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
* Develop project specific thermal power plant cycle designs, system models, and performance optimization meeting customer requirements and utilizing the latest product capabilities.
* Interface with combines cycle application engineering technical leads, value solution and proposal teams to develop a winning product and plant configuration.
* Work closely with application engineering team and regional commercial management to ensure internal / external customer satisfaction.
* Develop heat and mass balances to provide contractual guarantees and correction curves.
* Generate data to support equipment (i.e HRSG, steam turbine, condenser, BOP) sizing and cost estimation.
* Interface with all key internal customers & partners in commercial, application engineering and execution engineering organization.
* Support performance risk evaluation.
* Provide inputs on the development, enhancement, & maintenance of application tools.
* System engineering for core combined cycle plant equipment. Including process calculations, designing components like pumps, control valves, heat exchangers, boiler (HRSG) based on heat balance process data.
* Collaborate with other multidisciplinary global engineering teams to ensure successful project execution.
* Issue documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies, procedures and contract.
* Support mitigation of technical risks related to plant design & performance.
Required Qualifications
* B.S. degree in mechanical engineering, process engineering or other relevant engineering discipline or equivalent knowledge/experience.
Desired Characteristics
* Strong oral and written communication skills.
* Power generation product experience.
* Gas turbine, steam turbine, & combined cycle product line knowledge.
* Good communication skills, team player.
* Self-starter and highly motivated.
* Innovative and creative thinker.
* Experience with performance modelling software are considered as an asset.
* Understanding of process flow diagrams, plant operational concepts, water steam/operating cycle technology, performance guarantees, equipment sizing, is an advantage for the role.
* M.S. degree is considered as an advantage for this role.
About Us
For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, the base pay range for this position is $79,400-$119,000 USD Annual.
The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a Variable Incentive (VIC) Bonus of 5%.
