Executive Director - Operation

Airport Location: JFK International Airport
Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to direct the operations of one of our largest airport locations, which includes multiple restaurants, production kitchens, commissaries, and warehouses. The successful candidate will build and maintain relationships with landlord staff, ensure restaurants are clean, staffed, and profitable, and create a positive work culture.
1. Partner with the Vice President of Operations to make strategic decisions about operations, people, and strategy.
2. Serve as the primary liaison with the Airport Authority/Landlord on all operations matters.
3. Work with the Development function to optimize the landlord relationship.
4. Monitor financial and operational data to identify areas for improvement and develop corrective actions.
5. Ensure managers understand and execute brand and company standards, protocols, and procedures.
6. Coach subordinate leaders to profitably operate and maintain restaurants within brand and company standards.
7. Interview candidates for staff, managers, and general managers, and make hiring recommendations.
8. Ensure effective developmental store visits and ongoing coaching and development.
9. Direct local and company recognition initiatives and motivate staff for their contributions and performance.
10. Resolve complex customer and associate conflicts and problems.
11. Consult with HR, Finance, Loss Prevention, Supply Chain, and other regional or branch-wide staff functions before making key decisions.
12. Ensure airport/location leaders maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local sanitary, safety, and health standards.
Experience:
To be successful in this role, you will require:
1. 10 or more years of experience as a restaurant operations leader or equivalent business experience with P&L responsibility.
2. Demonstrated successful track record managing highly visible relationships with public and private clients and stakeholders.
3. Experience managing subordinate leaders and holding them accountable for commitments, performance, and outcomes.
4. Demonstrated ability to create and communicate a strategic vision and mobilize a team to deliver results.
5. Proven sales growth and operating profit, while improving customer delight, associate engagement, and landlord satisfaction.
6. Demonstrated commitment to developing restaurant leadership talent, adopting best-in-class employee engagement practices, and building a diverse and inclusive team and work environment.
7. Demonstrated business and financial acumen, through understanding and application of variance analysis, trend analysis, and return on investment.
