Position Overview:
As a Legal Specialist, you will play a key role in providing legal support to ensure the company’s operations comply with local and international laws. You will assist in handling various legal matters, including contracts, regulatory compliance, dispute resolution, corporate matters, and intellectual property, with a focus on the fashion industry. The role demands a blend of legal expertise, business acumen, and an understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within the fashion sector.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Contract Management: Review, draft, and negotiate contracts related but not limited to manufacturing, distribution, retail partnerships, licensing agreements, lease agreements, and collaborations with designers or influencers.
2. Corporate Governance: Support in the organisation of Board of Director and Shareholders meetings, management of power of attorneys, and appointments of legal representatives for the holding company and the affiliates.
3. Intellectual Property: Familiarity with the management of trademarks, copyrights, patents, and other intellectual property matters.
4. Legal Compliance: Advise on local and international laws and regulations affecting the fashion industry, including environmental laws, consumer protection, and advertising regulations.
5. Dispute Resolution: Assist internal and external stakeholders and consultants in resolving legal disputes with third parties, including suppliers and retailers.
6. Data Privacy: Knowledge of data privacy laws, including GDPR and similar regulations, particularly concerning consumer and employee data.
7. Risk Management: Identify legal risks and advise senior management on strategies to mitigate them.
8. Legal Research: Stay up to date with changes in the law relevant to the fashion industry and provide recommendations for adapting business practices accordingly.
9. Internal Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, such as marketing, finance, and licensing, to ensure that legal considerations are integrated into all aspects of the business.
Qualifications:
1. Education: Law degree from an accredited institution. Specialization in business or commercial law is an advantage. Admission to the Italian bar is preferable.
2. Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience as in-house counsel or in private practice focusing on corporate/commercial law in the retail industry, preferably with experience in fashion and/or luxury.
3. Skills:
* Proficiency in contract drafting, negotiation, and dispute resolution.
* Knowledge of global fashion industry standards and international trade laws.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
* Fluency in professional legal English.
