Regional Coordinator for Nature-based Solutions
An Exciting Opportunity at the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as Regional Coordinator for Nature-based Solutions in our European Regional Office.
This is a key position that will play a pivotal role in enhancing coordination on nature-based solutions-related activities with our Regional Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia (ECARO) and Centre for Mediterranean Cooperation (MED).
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the Nature-based Solutions hub in Europe, focusing on developing strategic partnerships, ensuring proper uptake of the IUCN Global Standard for Nature-based Solutions, and engaging with financial institutions and other key stakeholders to scale up investment in Nature-based Solutions.
Main Responsibilities:
* Knowledge Generation and Policy Analysis:
o Contribute to further development of the IUCN Global Standard on Nature-based Solutions and accompanying knowledge tools.
o Develop policy analysis related to Nature-based Solutions, ensuring alignment with regional and international frameworks.
o Create evidence-based policy briefs, white papers, and strategic recommendations to influence policymakers.
* Strategic Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagement:
o Nurture partnerships with national authorities to promote the IUCN Global Standards for Nature-based Solutions.
o Build relationships with financial institutions, private sector partners, and investors to mobilize resources for Nature-based Solutions.
* Programme Coordination and Team Management:
o Lead the development and implementation of Nature-based Solutions-related projects.
o Manage the IUCN European Nature-based Solutions team and ensure effective delivery of outputs and outcomes.
