Overview of contract
On behalf of our client, a large bank in Switzerland, we are looking for a Data Engineer.
Location: Zurich
Start date: Flexible
Duration: 12 months - with possibility of extension/ internalization
Key Responsibilities:
1. Datasets and data pipelines preparation, support for Business, data troubleshooting.
2. Closely collaborate with the Data & Analytics Program Management and stakeholders to co-design Enterprise Data Strategy and Common Data Model
3. Implementation and promotion of Data Platform, transformative data processes, and services
4. Develop data pipelines and structures for Data Scientists, testing such to ensure that they are fit for use
5. Maintain and model JSON based schemas and metadata to re-use it across the organization (with central tools)
6. Resolving and troubleshooting data related issues and queries
7. Covering all processes from enterprise reporting to data science (incl. ML Ops)
8. Requirements Gathering: Document what GDP can currently do versus what it should be able to do (GAP Analysis), including historization and reporting capabilities
Required Experience and Skills:
9. Hands-on Big Data experience using common open source components (Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Presto, NiFi, MinIO, K8S, Kafka)
10. Experience in stakeholder management in heterogeneous business/technology organizations
11. Experience in banking or financial business, with handling sensitive data across regions
12. Experience in large data migration projects with on-prem Data Lakes
13. Knowledge of reference architectures, especially concerning integrated, data-driven landscapes and solutions
14. Expert SQL skills, preferably in mixed environments (i.e. classic DWH and distributed)
15. Working automation and troubleshooting experience in Python using Jupyter Notebooks or common IDEs
16. Data preparation for reporting/analytics and visualization tools (e.g Tableau, Power BI or Python based)
17. Fluent in English, German is a plus.
