ROLE SUMMARY:
The International School of Ticino is seeking to appoint a Secondary Visual Arts teacher with Design and the ability to teach DP Visual Art to join us for September 2024. For the right candidate, there is the possibility of the head of Visual and Performing arts role.
Candidates should be well qualified and experienced in the DP or equivalent qualifications. The successful candidate should also be committed to high standards, interested in using innovative and inquiry-based approaches to learning, and enthusiastic about promoting international understanding.
OUR SCHOOL
Founded in September 2014 as part of the ISE network of schools, the International School of Ticino has had year-on-year growth and now has 270 students across the age range of 3-18. It became the only IB continuum school in the area and graduated its first DP class in July 2023 with a high value added. Our cohort this summer looks set to achieve a high average score, with university admissions confirmed to institutions such as Bocconi and Lausanne.
The school is one of several very successful Swiss and Italian schools belonging to Inspired, a worldwide network of premium schools offering global best practice and professional development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will teach a range of ages and abilities across the entire secondary school age range (11-18 years). The contract is permanent, and our location offers the opportunity to live on Lake Lugano in Switzerland or Lake Como in Italy.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
Essential characteristics for IST applicants:
A university degree in a related subject and an appropriate teaching qualification.
Recent, demonstrable experience teaching secondary within the 11-18 age range.
An enthusiastic and passionate approach to teaching.
An EU passport or a valid visa to work in Switzerland.
Previous experience with IB programmes is required; further IB training will be offered, along with relocation assistance.
