ASSOS of Switzerland has an opportunity for a Demand Planner.
The Demand Planner is responsible for creating and managing accurate demand forecasts by analysing market trends, sales inputs, and historical data. The role requires proactive collaboration with cross-functional teams to balance supply and demand effectively, ensure optimal inventory levels, and support the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process to drive strategic business decisions.
This role will be based in Stabio and report to the Senior Manager of Planning and Forecasting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Demand Forecasting:
* Gather and integrate inputs from sales, marketing, and historical data to develop a comprehensive and accurate demand forecast.
* Utilize statistical models and market analysis to enhance forecasting precision.
* Regularly update demand forecasts to account for market changes, promotions, and product launches.
2. Supply Risk Management:
* Identify potential supply constraints and work collaboratively with supply chain partners to propose solutions that mitigate risks.
* Develop contingency plans and implement proactive measures to prevent disruptions.
3. Inventory Management:
* Manage inventory levels to achieve an optimal balance between meeting customer demand and minimizing excess inventory.
* Execute re-allocations as needed to ensure efficient inventory utilization.
* Set and monitor inventory targets, including safety stock and reorder points, to maintain business continuity.
4. Performance Analysis:
* Analyse inventory performance metrics, such as turnover rates and service levels, and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
* Track and report key performance indicators including forecast accuracy, inventory turns, and adherence to the supply plan.
* Create dashboards and generate reports that provide visibility into inventory performance and financial outcomes, including Actual vs. Target and End of Month projections.
5. S&OP Process:
* Coordinate and lead regular S&OP meetings, ensuring alignment among sales, operations, finance, and marketing teams.
* Present updated forecasts, supply plans, and KPIs to senior management, facilitating data-driven decision-making.
* Develop and monitor action plans to address discrepancies between supply and demand, ensuring timely follow-ups and resolution.
6. System and Data Management:
* Maintain and update demand planning and inventory management systems, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility.
* Develop and manage reports related to financial tracking, such as budget adherence and sales performance by customer, channel, and sell-out.
* Generate ad-hoc reports as needed to support business analysis and decision-making.
7. Continuous Improvement:
* Identify trends and opportunities for process improvement, leveraging data insights to enhance demand planning and inventory management.
* Stay current with industry best practices and implement innovative solutions to optimize the planning process.
EXPERIENCE: 5 - 7 years’ experience
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
* Advanced computer skills in Excel (pivot tables, macros, data analysis), Access, and all Microsoft applications
* Experience with reporting platforms, as Power BI is a plus
* Exceptional technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
* Knowledge of Netsuite as ERP is a plus
* Ability to work effectively within a team and build positive relationships
* Self-driven and highly motivated with a strong attention to accuracy and detail
* Good command of English and another foreign language

* Process oriented with a continuous improvement mindset
* APICS or CPIM certification
