To support us in our transition from a research-driven start-up to a true commercial operation, we are recruiting a Quality Manager to cover 80-100% of the position.
Microcaps is a fast-paced and vibrant company dedicated to shaping the future of microencapsulation technology across multiple industries. We are currently at an exciting stage as we build capacity to bring our first commercial products to the market at scale.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a Quality Manager to join our highly energetic and driven team. If you enjoy working in an agile environment with appropriate methods, are passionate about modern quality management methods, and willing to travel 50% within Switzerland (weekly) and within Europe (monthly), then this may be the right opportunity for you.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop, implement, and maintain a modern and applicable Quality Management System (QMS) that meets the requirements of ISO 22716 and other relevant standards for cosmetics manufacturing.
2. Lead project management initiatives in the development of our main value streams.
3. Engage employees through training to promote quality awareness and adherence to quality standards (GMP guidelines).
4. Empower employees to independently implement improvement measures (PDCA).
5. Plan and conduct internal and external audits.
6. Monitor the quality management of our Swiss & international suppliers.
7. Develop and manage interface processes with suppliers and customers.
8. Evaluate the quality of work instructions, manufacturing regulations, and specifications.
9. Manage internal quality controls.
10. Address quality deviations (OOS) and recalls, and control associated root cause analysis, including corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) with relevant departments.
11. Support quality system implementation for infrastructure, hygiene & occupational safety at the main site and with suppliers.
12. Lead and participate in improvement projects (PDCA as well as DMAIC, etc.) of our cutting-edge production plants.
Requirements
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in food / cosmetic technology, biology, or chemistry.
* 5+ years of professional experience in quality management, preferably in cosmetics manufacturing.
* In-depth knowledge of relevant quality standards, particularly ISO 22716, and experience in practical implementation of these standards. Knowledge of food and/or cosmetic-related microbiology is an advantage.
* Indirect leadership experience / supplier management.
* A committed personality with good communication & conflict resolution skills and high social competence to work effectively with various stakeholders.
* Strong analytical skills and interconnected thinking.
* Knowledge of agile methods.
* Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio skills.
* Excellent German (C1) and very good English (B2) skills, both written and spoken.
* Willingness to travel 50% within Switzerland (weekly) and within Europe (monthly) (work location: Schlieren, ZH or Worben, BE).
