We are seeking a Financial Controller to join our Financial Control & Accounting (FC&A) team for the M&T and Premix. Our FC&A EMEA team of around 140 professionals is embarking on an exciting journey towards achieving ambitious goals, and we are looking for a talented individual who shares our passion for excellence and innovation.
This role will give you the opportunity to implement and supervise structured interactions with all relevant stakeholders: BG account manager, other financial control teams (CCS, OCS, TP), Financial Shared Services, internal and external auditors, Lead Management Accountant and Business Partner.
You will also have the opportunity to manage a full trial balance and own the actuals.
Your key responsibilities:
* Ensure delivery and execution of finance actuals, closing and reporting activities for the assigned reporting unit(s).
* Perform a sanity check of the P&L and coordinate variances analysis compared to the actuals (e.g. prior month, quarter, or run-rate).
* Ensure integrity of financial Statements and management reports in accordance with DSM Accounting Rules, international and local statutory accounting standards.
* Perform Balance Sheet monitoring, incl. financial variance analysis and understanding of open items.
* Review integrity and quality of all sub ledgers (incl. balance reconciliation).
* Coordinate supporting documentation on accruals, provisions and special items.
* Monitor the financial closing process.
* Lead the pre-close meeting and translate business development to DAR accounting.
* Oversee implementations like judgement-based accruals.
* Actively monitor the closing process based on the financial closing cockpit.
* Define and follow up on mitigation actions in case of issues during the closing in order to ensure correct and complete actuals and meet defined deadlines.
* Drive the monthly evaluation meeting and follow up on occurred issues and defined improvements actions.
* Support the business with the setting up of the budget and forecast cycles.
* Upload and lock budget and RAF data in CFIN.
* Provide reports for Provisions/Accruals.
* Support Management Reporting BG/BU, Monthly Reporting Deck Forecast/Actuals and Cashflow.
* Ensure integrity of data used in management reports related to the legal entity.
* Ensure compliance with DSM internal control requirements.
* Monitor the internal control framework on a monthly basis and follow up on remediation plans.
* Act as Single point of contact for all internal and external audits.
* Follow up on financial audit findings.
* Ensure that assets and liabilities are correctly and completely recognized.
* Ensure that roles and responsibilities are in line with the (updated) ARIS flows and make sure that processes are performed according to the approved standard House of Finance processes.
You bring:
* A (post) Bachelor or Master's Degree in Accounting/Financial Controlling, and/or licensed certified public accountant.
* > 4 years of experience in Accounting/ Controlling/Audit.
* Knowledge and experience in a Shared Service environment.
* An in-depth understanding of Finance and Accounting processes.
* Extensive knowledge and understanding of ERP systems (SAPR3).
* The flexibility to travel on a regular basis on site in Lalden (Switzerland).
* Fluency in English and German.
