As a Portfolio Manager (m/f/d) within the R&D departments, you are driving the evolution of the local projects portfolio related to chemical entities. You ensure that the Research programs are following our priorities and are translated into tangible deliverables through excellent project management practices. Moreover, you support us in developing the global R&D portfolio.
You will be based in our Innovation Center in Kemptthal and report directly to the Ingredients CoE Head - S&T Fragrances.
In this exciting role you will:
* Portfolio Management: You take the ownership of Givaudan Fragrance Innovation Management Process (Voltaire). You define, with the project manager, the Ingredient CoE Head, and the sponsor, the project passports with clear deliverables and accountabilities. You lead the Innovation/Brainstorming Process of the Ingredients CoE.
* Project Management: With the department heads, you work together to monitor projects' progress. You steer the project team and validate the decisions of the different gates of the project, and you can lead some of the projects/gates of the ingredient CoE. You also guide the project management of selected big projects internally or externally.
* Methodologies Evolvement: In collaboration with other portfolio managers, you evolve project management methodologies that are used for managing S&T Fragrance projects. You consolidate innovation needs in close collaboration with sales and category leaders, Research Management Committee, S&T, and Regional Technology Heads.
* Performance Measurement: You measure pipeline performance through relevant indicators with CoE Heads/Category Heads/Regional Technology Heads. Moreover, you participate in the Research Products Management Committee (RPMC) and bring value-added inputs. You collaborate with Competitive Intelligence scientists for Ingredients CoE to benchmark and prioritize according to the projects portfolio.
Your professional profile includes:
* Master/PhD in synthetic organic chemistry, biotechnologies, chemical engineering, or food technology;
* Min 5 years of experience within the Fragrance & Flavor industry. Experience in sustainability projects is a plus;
* Excellent project management skills including MS Excel proficiency;
* Familiar with PM software tools. Project Management Certification is an asset;
* Excellent communication and influencing skills;
* Driven and autonomous;
* Business fluent in English. Additional languages (German, French) are an asset.
