SUMMARY OF ROLE:
The Continuous Improvement Coordinator coordinates and assists in the site's Lean and Continuous Improvement activities. This role champions change as a resource for Lean improvement techniques and provides leadership and guidance for site continuous improvement activities such as Kaizen and Blackbelt. The TWI Coordinator fulfills the responsibilities of this role when vacant.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Implement Kaizen (Lean) terminology and methodology.
* Oversee the implementation of the Continuous Improvement program.
* Participate and lead the site Kaizen and Blackbelt events.
* Interact with different departments onsite to complete assigned goals and objectives achieved during Kaizen Events or those that facilitate continuous improvement.
* Generate reports and analyze data from various databases to define Kaizen opportunities.
* Coordinate a variety of action items to sustain improvements made during Kaizen events.
* Work individually or facilitate a team activity to perform root cause analysis.
* Guide the Environmental Health and Safety Technician to ensure the implementation of site safety initiatives and programs.
* Ensure that all safety documentation and regulatory compliance is completed and submitted on time.
* Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
* Write routine reports and correspondence.
* Communicate effectively to individuals and groups of employees of the organization.
* Pleasant, professional, and able to work well with others is necessary. Ability to motivate and influence cross-functional groups.
* Good organizational skills, along with strong attention to detail and concern for accuracy are required.
YOU BRING THESE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
* A college degree in business or a relevant field with lean certification is preferred. Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Supervision, lean and ISO experience a plus, plastics industry preferred.
* Additional education in quality, safety, mechanical or electrical areas of knowledge preferred.
* Preferred experience would include Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification, ASQ Quality Engineering certification, Lean Manufacturing, etc.
* Experience with plastic extrusion and/or injection molding is preferred.
* The ability to excel in a fast paced, high-energy environment with constant interface with people.
* Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.

* Must be able to move and/or lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
* Frequently standing, walking and sitting.
* Frequently required the use of hands to finger, feel, reach or handle machinery.
