For one of our clients are we looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Supplier Quality Engineer – Electronics to ensure the consistent quality and performance of supplier-delivered components and materials for our clients production plant. This role is critical in implementing supplier qualification processes, driving continuous improvement, and securing part compliance throughout the product lifecycle. The ideal candidate has a solid electronics background and is experienced in managing supplier relationships, quality methodologies, and technical root cause analysis.
Supplier Quality Engineer – Electronics Your tasks Get involved early in product and process development to help define clear quality standards for electronic components.
Drive part qualification through the PPEP and make sure components meet requirements like RoHS and REACH.
Roll out the SQM and SPM processes for both internal and external suppliers, with a strong focus on electronics.
Handle incoming inspection strategy, adjusting based on risk and supplier performance.
Track supplier quality KPIs, spot trends, and push for improvements where needed.
Lead issue resolution using 8D or similar methods—contain problems fast and follow up on fixes.
Check if corrective actions are working and escalate issues to the Supplier Quality team when necessary.
Support the supplier approval process (SAM) and keep the approved supplier list up to date.
Make sure sourcing decisions follow guidelines and help keep a strong, reliable supplier base.
Your profile Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
Proven experience in Supplier Quality Assurance within the electronics manufacturing or EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services) environment.
Strong understanding of electronic manufacturing processes, PCB assembly, and component-level quality control.
Familiarity with quality tools and standards (e.g., 8D, PPEP, FMEA, ISO 9001, IPC standards).
Excellent problem-solving skills, with a Customer-First mindset.
Strong leadership and influencing capabilities with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization and suppliers.
Experience conducting audits (SAM Auditor certification is a plus).
Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt preferred). (Desired but Not Essential)
Experience with automotive or industrial electronics compliance standards (e.g., IATF 16949, AEC-Q standards). (Desired but Not Essential)
