We are seeking a motivated, curious, autonomous, and innovative Production Engineering Intern with a start-up mindset who wants to make a difference by helping make the world's manufacturing dramatically more sustainable, efficient, and high-performance.
Key Role
You will work under the supervision of the Head of Hardware Development, supporting the development of the future of composite printing and contributing to 9T's mission to advance high-performance applications in a sustainable way.
You will collaborate with a team of mechanical, electrical, and software engineers on the production of parts for customer projects and be at the forefront of thermoplastic carbon fiber manufacturing.
Your Mission
You will work closely with the hardware development and engineering team to support the creation of meaningful carbon fiber designs for customer projects and internal testing.
* Know the company structure, values, and goals.
* Familiarize yourself with our additive manufacturing solutions, products' capabilities, and target markets.
* Understand the relevant people within 9T Labs.
* Be comfortable operating our production machines and familiar with our design software.
After 3 Months You Will...
* Tackle your own production projects and reliably support internal part production.
* Work independently on our design software and iterate on composite designs with engineers.
* Provide input on process parameters and stability and offer hands-on support with daily prototyping and production.
After 6 Months You Will...
* Troubleshoot and suggest improvements for our production equipment.
* Identify opportunities for improvement to facilitate composite design with our manufacturing solution.
Requirements
* Currently enrolled or recently graduated with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical, robotics, electronics, or software engineering.
* Some experience in 3D printing-related technologies or products (ideally FDM).
* Familiarity with Gcode and 3D printing firmware is a plus.
* Proven hands-on experience working with robotics or mechatronics projects.
* Experience operating industrial production machines is a plus.
* Familiarity with composite design and willingness to dive deeper into this area.
* Experience working in fast-paced environments and cross-functional project teams.
* Ability to provide detailed and precise feedback and understanding of documentation importance.
Language Requirements
Fluent in English (at least C1 level).
