Finance Accounting and Reporting Team Manager
(Zurich North America Assessments and Surcharges/Third Party Administrators Team)

Purpose:
The position covers end to end aspects (operational, advisory and management) in area of Assessments and Surcharges and Third Party Administrators Teams in RFC Zurich North America (ZNA) A&S/TPA Team. The team is responsible for execution of payments and filings to various State agencies in the USA based on written premium, incurred losses and close cooperation with US TPAs that perform the claim handling service for the insured and provide Zurich with the claim data.
As a Team Manager, you will lead 12 team members (senior specialist, specialists, and accountants), oversee the close process ensuring that internal and external reporting requirements are adhered to and executed with high-quality standards. Your goal will be to develop the team and employees, provide coaching and support, promote cross-team work, and initiate improvement actions.
You will also assist in local, regional, or global projects and encourage others to get involved in such programs.
Responsibilities:
Team Management:
* Manage team members by providing support in daily operations, development, and training.
* Review and assess performance of team members.
* Align team and individual objectives to achieve company's goals.
* Act as a contact point on performance and personal issues.
* Build a proper motivation, teamwork, and knowledge sharing environment within the team.
* Conduct recruitment processes.
* Be a role model and lead by example.
Process Management:
* Effectively manage daily/monthly/quarterly activities to meet the agreed KPIs.
* Approve various types of payments, transactions, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
* Prepare various types of reports, analysis of fluctuations on BS and P&L accounts, and presentations for local ZNA team management.
* Set the right priorities and monitor them during the closing and escalate issues when needed. Prepare lessons learned based on closing periods.
* Support performance reporting, expense reporting, and data management.
* Identify potential financial issues and the drivers behind, support counter-measures definition, and track achievement.
* Cooperate with various local ZNA stakeholders, US State agencies, and US Third Party Administrators.
* Actively monitor ICFR controls compliance over all team activities and ensure controls are properly implemented and executed.
* Act as an escalation point of contact for Team Members and local FAR Controllers.
* Key contact for process-related changes.
* Actively identify areas for improvements, drive continuous process improvement, and standardization.
* Work and lead major projects including process re-organization, improvements in RFC Krakow ZNA A&S/TPA Team.
Additional requirements:
* This position will be dedicated to the US (American) customer and will require occasionally adapting to work according to the US hours as per the team’s shift schedule (9.00-17.00, 11.00-19.00, 14.30-22.30).
Candidate’s profile:
* At least 5 years of relevant accounting experience in F&A area.
* Preferably 1 year of people management experience.
* Practical accounting experience in General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and financial reporting.
* Finance and Accounting, Economy or equivalent academic degree.
* IFRS or other GAAPs knowledge preferable.
* SAP and internal control experience.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships across various stakeholders.
* Analytical skills and attention to detail.
* Problem-solving skills and independence.
* Ability to multitask.
* Fluent English skills – spoken and written (C1).

This role is related to the key area of Zurich’s activity in Kraków.
