ECCO is looking for a proactive and analytical business controller who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes ownership to drive improvements. The ideal candidate is solutions-oriented, with a strong ability to anticipate issues, challenge the status quo, and deliver actionable insights that support informed decision-making.
You will be responsible for the business controlling of ECCO’s business in Europe and reporting to the Head of Business Control.
Acting as the key interface between commercial teams, local controllers, and the regional leadership team, you will play a central role in analyzing financial performance and driving forward initiatives to optimize results. You will also collaborate closely with support functions (accounting, data, IT) on technical and system-related topics as well as HQ group functions.
As part of the European Business Controlling team based in Zug, Switzerland, you will contribute to shaping the financial direction of the region through insight-driven reporting, forecasting, and business support.
Key Responsibilities
1. Review and analyze weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial and sales figures to generate insights and support strategic actions.
2. Monitor actuals, investigate variances, and develop solutions and action plans in close collaboration with regional controllers and commercial teams.
3. Lead and support the preparation of budgets and quarterly forecasts, including consolidation of regional inputs.
4. Conduct in-depth analysis of business activities, including scenario modelling, profitability analysis, and KPI optimization.
5. Provide financial input and recommendations to management through clear, impactful reports and analysis.
6. Act as a business partner—challenging assumptions, identifying improvement opportunities, and contributing to increased profitability.
7. Develop and enhance Power BI dashboards and reporting tools for effective communication of financial performance.
Candidate profile:
1. Proactive, hands-on, and solutions-driven, with a strong sense of ownership and initiative.
2. Analytical and structured, with the ability to simplify complexity and communicate key findings clearly.
3. Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment with a positive and flexible attitude.
4. Strong system acumen with the ability to navigate and improve data flows; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and SAP is an advantage.
5. Naturally curious and continuously looking for ways to improve processes and outcomes.
6. Strong proficiency in MS Excel and Power BI is required.
7. At least 5 years of experience in Controlling.
8. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
