Director, Interior Design – Europe
We are looking for a Director, Interior Design (Europe) to be responsible for overseeing all aspects of interior design on new build and renovation projects in the region.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Oversee interior design on both new builds and renovations.
1. Review design from concept through construction documents and specifications. Provide detailed comments to ensure design meets brand standards and creates a superior quality, relevant product in line with Four Seasons Design Narrative
Assist Senior Dir. Interior Design and VP Interior Design to source potential Interior Designers
2. Present potential new Interior Designers having previewed portfolios, determined studio viability, ability to deliver and quality of documentation.
Assist with keeping Design Standards current.
3. Contribute updates to Design Standards, participate in annual or bi-annual review of Design Standards to ensure accuracy prior to issuance.
Assist Senior Dir. Interior Design with Interior Design and Art Consultant recommendations.
4. Assess project needs and confer with Senior Director Interior Design to build a team of designers to recommend to owners for both new builds and renovations.
Write Design Narrative
5. Assemble necessary background information, do research, and write a Design Narrative with Senior Director oversight to guide the team to appropriate product.
Conduct new designer orientations.
6. Convey FS Brand Standards, expected deliverables, our modus operandi DUR review and approval process to new designers.
Arrange and attend design presentations and workshops under the guidance of project leads and Sen. Director Interior Design
7. Schedule and arrange attendance and agendas.
What You Bring:
8. 4-year university level degree in interior design or architecture
9. Minimum 10 years’ experience in an international design firm with focus on hospitality design, plus minimum 3 years’ experience on Hotel Operator Design Services
10. Strong knowledge of architectural and interior design process, and documentation
11. Knowledge of graphic design as applied to Design Narratives, signage and collateral.
12. Strong space planning, FF&E spec writing and millwork drawings review skills
13. Understanding of Lighting Design
14. Excellent knowledge of ACAD, Sketch up, Word, Excel, Power Point.

15. A hospitality design specialist with proven track record and extensive experience in hotel, restaurant, and bar design.

Travel:
32. Approximately 60 – 70 travel days per year.
This role will be a Hybrid working model, which will require 3 days per week in the Four Seasons Corporate Office located in Geneva #LI-Hybrid
