The HVA department, located in Cortaillod (Switzerland), provide accessories for extra high voltage applications for customers all around the world. It is a part of the Generation and Transmission (G&T) business group, which is present on 3 continents and especially in France, Norway and Belgium.
Project Engineer (w/m)
Context :
HVA is a part of G&T as Nexans promotes the supply full cable systems
Purpose:
Reporting to the HVA engineering manager, the project engineer will be responsible of the HV accessories engineering for all types of High Voltage Cable Onshore Projects.
The project engineer will be a part of the engineering team and will work in close coordination with the Tendering and Execution Departments locally and internationally.
Areas of responsability :
Analyze the customer’s needs and specifications to prepare and provide the technical proposal to the sales or the tendering department
Review and prepare the engineering deliverables such as design reports and inspection test plans, at the tender stage and during the project execution, in accordance with customer specifications and international standards
Work in collaboration with the technical office to prepare and provide the engineering deliverables (data sheets, drawings)
Assess the risks associated to the HV Accessories part of the projects and the installation of the HV cable system and propose mitigations.
Respond to the technical inquiries of internal and external customers and escalate issue to other areas of the team where necessary
Coordinate and conduct on-site factory acceptance tests with the customers when needed, and provide the reports.
Propose technical, innovative and/or cost-effective solutions to ensure product compliance to the customer specifications
Participate in relevant R&D-cases and projects
Assist with special projects as assigned by management
Promote and implement continuous improvement
Required skills and qualifications :
Master/EPF/HES degree in electrical engineering, physics, mechanics or closely related technical field
3-5 years experience in a regulated industry, ideally in HV systems
Excellent knowledge of MS office tools
Experience in working with an ERP as SAP
Fluent in French and in English (written/spoken)
Strong customer orientation
Ability to handle and complete multiple tasks under tight deadline
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (oral and written) with ability to quickly build effective professional working relationships.
