As a Corporate Ingredient Expert, you will accelerate innovation and product improvements through technical expertise around current and future key ingredients. Additionally, you will build the strategic vision and execution plan for ingredient technology expertise by leveraging an external network (suppliers, universities, etc.). YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE: Set up and run a structured scouting and collaboration framework (tools, methodologies, and processes for how to collaborate with internal and external key contacts). Act as the key contact and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for providers of innovative ingredient solutions, e.G., for start-ups. Funnel external knowledge into the organization for structured exploration and developments in the key innovation territories. Build a community of ingredient category experts and coach peers as their functional lead. Internal key contacts: Corporate Pilot Plant team, local product development teams, Consumer insights managers, Innovation management, IP manager. External key contacts: Start-ups, established suppliers, research institutes, research providers, patent attorneys. YOUR PROFILE: Master’s degree in food science or related fields; Ph.D. preferred. Minimum 3 years experience in external trend scouting and landscaping. Minimum 3 years experience in collaboration with start-ups, research teams of established suppliers, and external research institutes. Experience in CPG and technology companies (start-up through universities) is a plus. Collaboration with commercial functions globally. Minimum 2 years experience in IP management. Subject matter expert for innovative ingredient technologies and more premium alternatives for chocolate key ingredients. Ability to translate ingredient technology solutions into viable business options. Skills in simplification and dealing with ambiguity. Fluent in English; German is a plus. Highly self-motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit. Strategic thinking and strong interpersonal skills. Passion for start-ups and ingredient science in general.
