The Chief System Naval Architect is the system-level design referent for MobyFly’s hydrofoil boats and the infrastructure required for their deployment. The role ensures the overall system integrity, from concept to delivery, including architecture definition, performance, compliance, and industrial readiness. Operating across technical and operational functions, the architect leads the structuring of system specifications, interface management, and integration to guarantee quality, reliability, and traceability throughout the product lifecycle. The position is central to the development process and plays a key role in the industrial scale-up of MobyFly's maritime solutions. A core mission is also to support MobyFly’s platform vision—maximizing technological and process synergies across different vessel sizes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Define and maintain system architecture and product structure across all technical domains
Translate functional needs into structured specifications and requirements aligned with norms and certification pathways
Lead interface management and integration across subsystems (e.g., propulsion, foils, navigation, onboard systems)
Drive configuration control and ensure traceability and consistency throughout development
Define quality and reliability criteria and validate compliance through structured processes
Optimize development methods to support scalable and industrial production
Collaborate with Production and Innovation leads to align designs with manufacturing readiness and technological evolution
Support documentation, change management, and technical risk monitoring
Act as a key technical interface for internal stakeholders and industrial partners
PROFILE & QUALIFICATIONS - Education & Experience
Master’s or PhD in Systems Engineering, Naval Architecture, Naval Engineering, Aerospace, Mechatronics or related field
Proven experience in industrial system development and system integration
Strong background in requirements engineering, interface management, V&V and configuration control
Knowledge of applicable norms and regulatory standards (preferably maritime or mobility industries)
Fluency in English and French; Portuguese is a plus

Acts as the central interface for system coordination with internal teams and suppliers
