COFCO International’s fleet of dry bulk carriers supports commodity trading with maritime logistics and risk management around the world. As a Freight Middle Office and Market Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting the company's freight trading activities and optimizing operational processes. This position requires a combination of financial analysis, market research, and operational coordination skills.
Core Responsibilities
Lead the development of freight pricing model for the freight supply chain contributing to the adherence of CIF COFCO MtM policy.
Monitor and assess market and operational risks associated with freight trading.
Collaborate with risk management teams to implement risk mitigation strategies.
Maintain accurate records of trade positions and exposure.
Research and analyze global freight markets, including supply and demand dynamics, pricing trends, and market drivers.
Prepare reports and presentations on market insights for decision-makers.
Manage and analyze large datasets related to freight trading and market activities.
Develop and maintain databases, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.
Prepare the daily position and PnL generation and reporting.
Analyze and investigate with traders and operators the daily PnL variances to ensure accurate reporting.
Identify improvement opportunities in the current processes.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
Working experience of 2-4 years in a similar role within the freight or commodity trading or logistic industry.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL or Python).
Knowledge of freight market dynamics and trading strategies.
Proficiency in English is a must.
