General Description:
The On-Site Support Intern will support laptops, desktop applications and services for local users in our Basel office. This position also involves technical, hands-on support for meeting rooms. The candidate must be a team player and comfortable working independently.
Essential Functions of the job:
Technical Support
1. Help build, set up, maintain, and repair computer systems for new and existing employees.
2. Gain familiarity with Windows 11 and Microsoft Office Suite. Training will be provided if needed.
3. Learn how to troubleshoot conferencing tools and equipment, such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Poly A/V systems.
4. Understand the basics of change management and user support. You'll be introduced to service desk methods.
5. Support the management of a growing list of enterprise applications and tools.
6. Assist in managing and supporting:
7. Laptops and mobile devices
8. Windows 11 environments
9. Shared resources like printers, workstations, conference rooms, and projectors
10. Maintain inventory of IT equipment and track warranties to ensure all devices are covered.
Customer Service:
11. Learn how to communicate IT concepts in a way that is easy for users to understand.
12. Develop your administration and interpersonal skills while working with the team.
13. Understand the importance of meeting Service Level Agreement (SLA) standards.
14. Participate in coordinating with different IT teams to resolve issues and fulfill requests based on guidelines.
15. Practice diplomacy by considering multiple viewpoints and working collaboratively.
16. Be proactive about identifying and addressing potential service issues before they escalate.
17. Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate a “never give up” work ethic.
18. Strengthen your organizational skills and attention to detail through daily tasks.
