As Category Manager ME&S (m/f/d), it is your responsibility to develop, implement, and realize the strategy for the assigned categories in full support of the applicable ANH ME&S cluster strategy and Indirect Procurement strategy. All within corporate requirements and guidelines, to ensure results on all KPIs as defined with ANH Sites, Operational Excellence, and to contribute to the overall result of dsm-firmenich/ANH Business Unit. The focus for the Category Manager is on building global or regional expertise for their Category, enforcing and sharing of best practices, maximum fit for their stakeholders, and innovative contracts with their suppliers, striving for an optimized supply base in line with the indirect spend strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deploy vision and approved plan for his/her category as well as responsible for category strategy development to deliver maximum value.
- Define and lead (global) cross-functional sourcing teams and support throughout the steps and activities of the strategic sourcing process (SSM).
- Support and/or manage (large/medium) Capex projects.
- Develop and manage relationships with key suppliers and track their performance.
- Manage collaboration, knowledge sharing, and proper communication within the category by providing strategy and deep category expertise and ensure the use of standardized processes.
- Manage relationships with internal stakeholders during SSM and/or projects.
You Bring:
- University degree in relevant expertise area (preferably in business administration, commerce, engineering, or other relevant discipline) or equal level developed by experience.
- In-depth knowledge of the Categories in terms of products, services, and contracts as well as of Indirect Spend in terms of business dynamics, markets, innovation requirements, and growth opportunities.
- Fluency in German and English are required; other languages are a plus.
- Min. 8 years’ experience in Indirect Purchasing with deep understanding and knowledge of global/region business needs.
- Relevant systems savvy / Multitasking (SAP/ARIBA).
- Change Management, Demand Management, and Negotiation Skills.
