At the, we develop ArcGIS Urban, CityEngine, as well as Esris core 3D web technologies. As a software engineer at Esri, you will be solving challenges that make a difference in the world. We are looking for creative, smart engineers to help us build the next generation of urban planning tools.
Responsibilities
1. Help design and implement the back end for ArcGIS Urban using cutting-edge technologies (GraphQL, WebAssembly, Rust, Elixir)
2. Develop a scalable, testable, maintainable architecture
3. Advise in matters of software architecture and database design
4. Apply and promote software engineering best practices
5. Work in a small and dynamic team of people passionate about what they do
6. Help shape the future of urban planning
Requirements
7. Excellent programming skills in any modern programming language
8. 2+ years of industry experience in web application development
9. Excellent communication skills: you can clearly articulate the reasons behind design decisions
10. Ability to think creatively
11. Bachelor's in computer science or equivalent experience working with web technologies
12. Existing work authorization for Switzerland
Recommended Qualifications
13. Masters or PhD in computer science or equivalent experience working with web technologies
14. Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
15. Attention to detail and focus on maintaining a high level of accuracy
16. Experience with ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, and/or ArcGIS Enterprise
17. Interest in (learning all about) urban design and planning as well as 3D mapping, 3D GIS, and BIM
