Job Description:
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE:
Implementing and managing policies and procedures for DOT Compliance. This includes reviewing the current documentation for DOT compliance, determining what additional policies are required.
Making updates to existing policies, writing additional policies, and publishing those policies. Key policies include Driver Qualification, ELD Policy, Hazardous Materials, Hours of Service, and Vehicle Inspection.
Ensuring corrective actions from audits are completed, including reviewing audit reports, meeting regularly with the auditor and the station managing directors, reviewing evidence of implementation, and documenting changes.
Reviewing and assigning DOT training. This includes reviewing the training content, evaluating for compliance with regulatory requirements for training, ensuring the training is relevant for SEKO’s operations.
Determining the appropriate personnel to receive training, and ensuring the training is completed.
Monitoring regulatory changes and the potential impact to SEKO, including attending external training, monitoring news and government websites for updates to DOT regulations.
Evaluating how any changes would apply to SEKO’s operations.
Working with the DOT Compliance consultant, which performs on-site internal audits; weekly or more frequent; DOT/FMCSA, annual or as needed for registrations and audits and with Managing Directors and supervisors at the stations, monthly or more frequent to review action items; HR for any driver-specific or drug testing questions.
Participating in the development of a safe and healthy workplace. Complying with instructions given for their own safety and health and that of others, in adhering to safe work procedures. Co-operating with management in its fulfilment of its legislative obligations.
Other duties as assigned by management.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must have 2-3 years of DOT compliance management for a carrier or have worked for DOT.
BASIC scores.
Hours of Service requirements.
Vehicle Maintenance requirements.
HAZMAT / Dangerous Goods.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree.
SPECIALIST CERTIFICATIONS:
List any required/preferred certifications.
