Job Summary
This Trade Compliance Specialist role requires a professional to ensure compliance with customs and government agency regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in global trade management, export certification, and tariff classification.
Key Responsibilities:
* Evaluate trade rules and regulations in related jurisdictions to ensure Import & Export compliance.
* Determine Tariff classifications and ECCN codes for all products imported or exported.
* Perform Denied Party Listing (DPL) and Restricted Party Listing (RPL) screening for new customers or changes in existing customers.
* Assist the team with trade-sanctioned country due diligence and conduct independent research to evaluate and disposition sanction system alerts.
* Review Letters of Credit in line with current regulations and monitor the Global Trade Management (GTM) system for transactions on hold.
* Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support customer needs.
* Stay updated on import/export regulation changes and related documentation or certification requirements.
* Determine products' Country of Origin and Free Trade Agreement eligibility.
* Lead import/export transactions and ensure compliance with U.S., EU, and foreign government requirements.
* Implement and maintain trade compliance programs, procedures, and policies.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree required; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
* Export Certification or Customs brokerage license preferred.
* Ability to work in a matrix team environment.
* Working knowledge of ERP systems, Oracle preferred.
* Experience with Global Trade Management Software is a plus.
* Proficiency in global tariff classification and ECCN codes.
* Knowledge of BIS, EAR, ITAR, OFAC, international export compliance regulations, and sanctioned party screening processes.
